Highlights from Tanium's Eighth Annual Month of Giving: Celebrating community and impact

Each September, Tanium team members unite to give back to the communities that matter most to us. Whether through volunteering, fundraising, or supporting causes close to their hearts, our team members bring energy, compassion, and creativity to our annual Month of Giving.

Through the collective efforts of our global team, this year we logged 1,200+ volunteer hours, supported 75+ charities, and participated from 55+ locations.

This blog celebrates the incredible efforts of our people—those who stepped outside their routines, embraced new challenges, and made a difference. From local outreach to global initiatives, Tanium’s eighth Month of Giving was a powerful reminder of what we can achieve together.

Week 1: Stepping up and giving back

Tanium team members kicked off the Month of Giving with a powerful mix of physical activity and hands-on service. Our St. Louis team partnered with the St. Louis Food Bank, helping organize and stock food for community members in need. Meanwhile, our Singapore office rolled up their sleeves for a beach cleanup at Gardens by the Bay, removing litter to protect one of the city’s most iconic green spaces.

The momentum continued with our global Walk My Workday challenge. For every mile logged, Tanium pledged donations to a charity selected by the winning office. Together, we logged an impressive 763 miles—565 walked and 198 biked.

To round out the week, our Krakow office joined the Poland Business Run, supporting children, adults, and veterans with disabilities through a relay-style race around Błonia and Jordan Park.

Week 2: Local impact, global reach

Week 2 was all about community connections. From trash pickups organized by our Reston office in partnership with the Fairfax County Park Authority to coaster painting hosted by our Addison team for hospice residents, Tanium team members found creative ways to give back.

Food security was also a major theme, with teams in Emeryville, San Jose, and Durham volunteering at local food banks, sorting and distributing meals to those in need.

Our Reading South office also supported The Cowshed, helping sort and prepare clothing donations for individuals experiencing personal crises.

Meanwhile, environmental stewardship took center stage as our Zurich team helped preserve the BirdLife Nature Centre Klingnauer Stausee, and our Tokyo and Osaka offices cleaned up city streets in partnership with local government programs.

Additionally, our U.K. team took on a two-day climb of Snowdon to raise awareness for Huntington’s Disease, and our Bellevue office harvested produce for local food banks with Hopelink.

Week 3: Creativity and compassion

Week 3 blended virtual and in-person giving with a focus on emotional wellness and education. Team members across North America, EMEA, and APJ built superhero kits with Generus, sending care packages to hospitalized children around the world.

Our Reading South office supported Priors Court, a center for children and adults with autism, through landscaping and maintenance projects. In New York City, team members partnered with The Campaign Against Hunger, helping organize pantry shelves and assist community members with food access.

The week wrapped up with our Austin team volunteering at BookSpring, organizing book donations to promote literacy and learning.

Week 4: Closing strong and heartfelt service

The final week of Month of Giving was filled with heartfelt gestures and hands-on support.

Our Public Sector team participated in the Wounded Warrior Carry Forward 5K, raising awareness and funds for veterans transitioning to civilian life.

Across offices, team members also supported a wide range of causes:

  • Hope House Children’s Hospice in Reading North
  • Letters Against Isolation in Bellevue
  • Loved Twice in Emeryville, where team members packed clothing for at-risk babies and supported the organization’s month-long donation drive
  • Berkshire Women’s Aid in Reading, preparing care packages for women affected by domestic violence
  • Animal shelter support in Krakow
  • Wonder Art Project in Tokyo and Osaka, creating holiday cards for hospitalized children
  • STEM-focused skateboard building for the Boys and Girls Club in Durham
  • Operation Kindness animal shelter in Addison
  • Greater Vancouver Food Bank, where our Vancouver team helped stock and organize food for local families
  • Fundacja Mam Marzenie in Krakow, where team members hosted a creative auction as the final event of our Month of Giving, wrapping up a month-long fundraising effort to help grant wishes for children facing serious illnesses

Month-long giving drives across Tanium locations

Throughout September, Tanium team members extended their impact beyond scheduled events by contributing to donation drives hosted in offices and across global teams. Whether dropping off supplies in person or supporting virtually, our teams rallied around causes that matter deeply to their local communities.

Each office partnered with a unique organization, offering Tanium team members the chance to give in ways that were personal, practical, and powerful:

  • Bellevue – Renewal Food Bank: Donated non-perishable food items to support King County residents facing food insecurity.
  • Addison – Dallas Children's Advocacy Center: Collected children’s toiletries, baby items, and toys to support kids in crisis.
  • Durham – Note in the Pocket: Hosted a “Denim for Dignity” drive to provide clothing for children and families in need.
  • Reston – Starlight Children's Foundation: Launched a virtual fundraising campaign to support seriously ill children.
  • Reading – The Trussell Trust: Gathered non-perishable food and hygiene products to support local families.
  • Japan – Second Life: Donated gently used children’s items—from clothing to school supplies—to help those in need.
  • All locations – Soles4Souls: Everyone was invited to donate their gently used shoes to help people in need and support local entrepreneurs around the world.

Tanium’s Month of Giving continues to reflect the heart of our culture—where purpose meets action. Whether working side by side or supporting causes individually, this year’s efforts showcased the power of unity and the impact of showing up for others.
